Visiting communities the right way
Community and favela visits can be powerful — or exploitative. We keep them on the right side of that line by working only with guides who have genuine, ongoing ties to the neighborhoods we visit, going where we're welcome, spending with local people, and treating everyone we meet as a host rather than a photo opportunity. If a visit wouldn't be respectful, we don't run it.
